CNN.com - McCain rejects Kerry's veep overture
CNN blaring what we already knew. But look at the whores Headline (the link above) and then read the body of the story.

Both officials said Kerry stopped short of offering McCain the job, sparing himself an outright rejection that would make his eventual running mate look like a second choice.

"Senator McCain categorically states that he has not been offered the vice presidency by any one," said McCain's chief of staff, Mark Salter, who would not confirm the officials' account.

In other words, the trial ballons that were floated months ago are now being repackaged as breaking news. Kerry, in public, dropped hints that McCain would be considered. Then McCain, after at first saying he would consider the VP slot on one of the morning shows, quickly backed off and that was that.

Clearly, politically this would be a brilliant ticket but, and that's a big but, Kerry and McCain have very little in common other than their military heroics, their both being attacked by the Rove attack machine and the fact they both would be a better President than the current occupant. And so, Wanda's dream of a McCain VP slot once again gets a little press but it ain't going to happen unless McCain decides at the last minute to once again, serve his country by helping to defeat the boy-king and oil dick Cheney.
Sorry kid, we can only hope...
